It's In The Book!
(1)

It seems that everywhere you go you hear someone answer a question about the Holy Bible by saying; "I don't know where, but I know one thing for sure, it's in the book."

Here are a few examples that many people misquote about the book:

1.  God helps those who help themselves.
2.  Cleanliness is next to godliness.
3.  Good things happen to good people.
4.  It's not important how you live if you know God.
5.  The big guy upstairs will take care of us all.
6.  Spank your children and keep them from going to hell.
7.  Everything works together for good for everyone.
8.  The man upstairs winks at our sins.

The list goes on and on.  The idea that everyone must be a scholar is far from necessary.  At the same time, the Follower of JESUS needs to find time in their life to read the book (Holy Bible) on a regular basis.  The best concept is daily reading of course, and doing their level best to spend time in prayer and devotion to the LORD they love.

GOD does not punish a Believer for missing a day of Bible reading and prayer, but the blessings HE wants to pour out into our lives is lost on a particular day that we do not give HIM our attention.  As you can see, missing a day here and there does not bring about a curse.  If you never stop to put gas in your vehicle, you will eventually loose it's blessing to get you efficiently from place to place.  The same is true for the Believer who does not do all they can to find time in GOD'S Word and fellowship with HIM, we run out of the gas we need to live our spiritual life efficiently.  In today's world we can't afford to live on our own without GOD'S continual blessing.
