Are You Discouraged With The Church? In this age it seems that many people have become
discouraged with the Church. People complain about the Sermons lasting too long,
being too short, boring, too technical or just simple. Gossip running amuck, fighting over the color of the carpets, the exact food to serve at the Potluck, etc. One person said to me; "If you want to have a good fight, go to
Church!" Even
though there are many challenges in the Body of CHRIST, the
Church
belongs to
GOD. The
Church was not man's idea, but
JESUS makes clear it's origin. Matthew 16:18
"And
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY
Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it."

Did you catch the fact that
GOD'S
Church
was here to stay? No matter the source of opposition, it will be among us until the return of
JESUS CHRIST. It is clear in the Book of Acts that the
Church
undergoes great persecution, even scatters, but is never destroyed. Acts 8:1
"And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. [
The Church Persecuted and Scattered
] On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria."

AND Acts 9:31
"Then the
Church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the HOLY SPIRIT, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the LORD."

What a mystery
HIS Church
can be to people. The
Church
JESUS planned for
HIS people is supposed to bring
HIS health and healing for hurting people.
I once heard a word that the Church
was like a garbage dump and that those
JESUS sent were the garbage, to be recycled, repaired and made whole. This view is rather blunt, may upset some people, but the concept is
acceptable. |
