Welcome
to Page One that addresses the all too common in today's society, divorce.
In the U.S., approximately 52% of all marriages end up in
divorce. While America leads the world in the number of
divorces, many European Countries have near similar
divorce statistics. From the beginning, marriage was intended to be: 'So long as we both shall live' Here is a commonly excepted example of a Wedding Ceremony:
THE
CHARGE Woman: Ephesians 5:22-24 "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the Church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything."
(__) you were created to be a helper to (__), a strength and support to undergird him. Your sub- mission must be willingly given to him." ------- Man: Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, just as
Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her."
(__) you were created to be a loving leader of your home and family. The Lord holds you to be Responsible at all times for the direction and goals you set for your family. Joshua understood this fact well when he declared; "as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
THE CEREMONY Man: (__) will you have this woman to be your wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others keep yourself only unto her, so long as you both shall live? (I WILL) ------- Woman: (__)
will you have this man to be your wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor, obey and keep him in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others keep yourself only unto him, so long as you both shall live? (I WILL) |
When a man and a woman make these vows, set out to live as husband and wife, end up
divorcing,
what has gone wrong? Marriage is a contract before witnesses (including GOD),
divorce is the breaking of that contract. How many people would divorce
if they had to pay $1,000,000.00 each in order to break their personal contract? The answer to that question is impossible to answer, but one thing for sure, people would be much more interested to work out their differences before they divorced
one another. |
