Sound Doctrine

Hello, my name is Dr. Mark Fielding.   I want to discuss the topic of Sound Doctrine with you in this Article.  Let's begin with a look at the gospel of JESUS CHRIST - 


There is only one gospel of CHRIST - 

1 Corinthians 15:1-4


CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
That HE was buried,
that HE was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you.
Otherwise, you have believed in vain." (vs 2)

The topic of Sound Doctrine is rather unpopular to many people in the Church today.  Stores are full of self-help and psychobabble books that offer so-called feel good solutions instead of Sound Doctrine for addressing serious problems in the lives of GOD'S people.

If you were to take a poll in many different types of Churches today, you would be surprised at how many people would define the gospel of the LORD JESUS CHRIST according to their personal views in place of the original.  Without the unaltered gospel of CHRIST there is no eternal life. 


The gospel of CHRIST has absolutely zero wiggle room for
differing opinions -

Galatians 1:6-9

"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the One who called you by the grace of CHRIST and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all.  Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of CHRIST.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!  As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!"

 

 

Different gospel?

If this should seem too narrow minded for you, it's up to you to change your belief!  If your Pastor or favorite Teacher is preaching a different gospel, run for the door, change the channel, find a Church that preaches the true gospel of CHRIST.  After all,  Church barbeques, no matter how delicious, are not worth burning for.  People who preach and believe in a different gospel are on their way to an eternal barbeque that never ends.  That barbeque will be the Lake of Fire! 

Other topics and teachings are of course much less important than that of the gospel of CHRIST.  At the same time, there are many requirements in the Bible that dictate standards of Sound Doctrine to be followed in the lives of the Followers of JESUS.  

As you take a stand for Sound Doctrine, don't be surprised if you are scoffed and told that you should keep your opinions to yourself.  After all, so many people say; "There is no place for the person that will not be flexible in religious life. Everyone should be free to live according to their own personal belief system."

Nothing is further from the truth!  It is GOD'S will that matters, and it is HIS truth that the Holy Bible calls - Sound Doctrine.  The LORD never planned that HIS people should live however they want to, making up their own opinions as to what is pleasing to HIM and what is Sound or orthodox Doctrine.  GOD has mapped out very carefully what HE expects us to believe. 


GOD appointed Leaders to teach Sound Doctrine.


1 Corinthians 12:28

"And in the church GOD has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues."

 

As we continue, I am going to continue to examine the topic of Sound Doctrine, and emphasize what that Doctrine, requires of everyone who belongs to GOD.
