Let's continue to discuss the topic of Sound Doctrine.  The gospel of JESUS CHRIST - 


There is only one gospel of CHRIST - 

1 Corinthians 15:1-4


CHRIST died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
That HE was buried,
that HE was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you.
Otherwise, you have believed in vain." (vs 2)

 

 

Second instruction Apostle Paul gave to Timothy on Sound doctrine - 

 


1 Timothy 6:3-4

"If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing."

 

This instruction is not out dated today.  The number of cults based on false doctrines grows every day.  In India, there are more then 3 million 'named' gods that are worshipped by millions of people in the place of JESUS CHRIST.

 

Identifying Cults

 

Conceited and understand nothing - 

The phrase Paul uses for anyone who teaches false doctrines.  You can choose to ignore JESUS, but you can't replace HIM.  JESUS is the SAVIOUR of the world whether you confess HIM as your LORD or not.  

Conceited -

Those who try to replace the gospel of JESUS with another god or religion believes they have the right to elevate someone or something into HIS place.  How horrifying it is going to be for such a person on the day they come face to face with the LORD.  If they do not repent while alive, their conceit will condemn them for all eternity.  The LORD would rejoice if those now conceited would turn from false gods and to HIM instead.

Understands nothing -

There are those who actually believe there are many ways to GOD, and HE is not particular which way they come to HIM.  One cult teaches that there exists unlimited paths to god, as they see him.  The illustration they use is a wagon wheel with many spokes and the center of the wheel is their god.  It matters not which spoke they travel to get to the center of the wheel, in other words, they are free to worship whoever and however they see fit.  

Man has been given free will and he is allowed to choose his own way.  It is a fact that there will be many more souls in hell than there will be in heaven.  That is frightening and sorrowful to GOD who loves the world so much that HE gave HIS One and Only SON to die for man's sins. John 3:16
