Time To Move
On!

Welcome to page one on the article on the topic of - Time To Move On! A vast number of people live their lives in the past, especially when it comes to guilt and the inability to forgive themselves for the bad or evil things they have done to other people for various reasons. The story of two brothers, Esau and Jacob make a perfect example. Esau deliberately developed a plan to steal his father's (Isaac) blessings away from his brother (Jacob), Isaac's oldest son. Proving his guilt, as soon as Esau discovered that Jacob's descendants had decided to attack him for his crimes, he ran for his life and stayed away many years. At first, Esau knew nothing about the serious emotional effect that unforgiven sins against others would weigh upon him. When Esau could not take the guilt and shame any longer, he set out to seek his brothers forgiveness. When he reached Jacob, Esau demonstrated the number one necessity in forgiveness. Humility.
The wonderful experience Esau had with Jacob will not be the same for everyone asking for forgiveness from another. When you ask someone to forgive you they are not necessarily going to respond in a positive manner. As a matter of fact, they may refuse to forgive you all together! Some people will hold a grudge for many years. The second necessity when it comes to asking someone to forgive you is that - If they refuse to forgive you, their decision is not your responsibility. All you are required to do is to open your heart before GOD and ask a person to forgive all past sins you committed against them. The truth of being willing to forgive or not to forgive can be exampled by an individual who refuses to believe in JESUS.
".....Whoever does not believe...." It's clear to see the choice made to 'believe' or 'not believe'. Likewise, to 'forgive' or 'not forgive'. Humble yourself, ask for forgiveness, and leave the choice up to the other person. If it turns out that they refuse to forgive you, accept their decision and continue to serve the LORD with all your heart and be prepared and know, it's Time To Move On! |
