Self-Pity
(2)

Welcome to Page 2, on the topic of Self-Pity

Basically, Self-Pity is a spiritual problem, so the way to freedom from Self-Pity is achieved through spiritual means.

Deliverance from Self-Pity comes through spiritual power -

  1. Having your Pastor and the Elders of your Church pray for you.

  2. Memorizing and quoting appropriate Scriptures out loud every time you sense Self-Pity knocking on the door of your soul.

  3. Actively resisting the enemy's plan to enslave you, causing you to fall back into Self-Pity.

  4. Once the LORD frees you from Self-Pity, and you find yourself starting to feel that way again, call on HIS Name, practice 1 John 1:9 and start fresh.

  5. When you find yourself feeling down, worthless and just plain pitiful, contemplate just how much JESUS gave to save you from sin and provide you with the gift of eternal life.

  6. The only possible permanent failure is to give up, quit or refuse to repent and accept restoration.

Since spiritual problems are solved spiritually, you will find that memorizing and quoting in faith a Scripture like the one below to be very powerful and effective in your Path to freedom:

Isaiah 54:17

"No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.  This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from ME," declares the LORD."

As you quote this Scripture, take the words;  "you will refute every tongue that accuses you" and add the following first tense version to be more effective in reminding yourself that you can be your own most vicious enemy when it comes to Self-Pity:  I will refute every tongue that accuses me, even my own."

Begin today by writing down this passage, keeping it where you can see it, apply these words to your life as you quote them out loud many times a day.  If you do, you will soon be writing me a note telling me just how the LORD has forever set you free from Self-Pity.
